Investigative Engineers Association Inc., (I-ENG-A®) was founded in 1991 as the very first association of forensic or investigative engineers doing business with the property and casualty insurance industry and legal community.
In 1981, prior to development of the Investigative Engineers Association, we founded First General Services, the nation’s first association of insurance restoration contractors in North America. In the first twenty-five (25) years of First General, our members have participated in over $5 billion of insurance restoration.
In the late 1980's, several different insurance companies came to us at different times stating how beneficial it would be to have an association similar to First General Services, of engineers that they could call on for claims settlement assistance. It was with this gentle nudge that we originated the Investigative Engineers Association. Also, in 1991, we founded the National Association of Forensic Accountants (NAFA) as the nation’s very first association of CPA’s doing forensic accounting.
Today, we are developing other associations whose common threads are it’s direct ties to the claims sector of the property and casualty insurance industry. With each added association, we become stronger as a whole. Name recognition, quality of work, commonality of formats, thoroughly trained investigative professionals are our proud legacy!
